CASCADE WINDCHIMES:
Notes: 4B, 5C#, 5E, 5F#, 5A, 5B, 6C#, 6E

The chime weighs 8 pounds and is 40 inches long from the Top Plate to the bottom of the Sail.

This is the smallest chime I market. My goal was to build a quality small chime that would be an attractive cost when compared to my other models. What I found was that ¾ inch aluminum tubing with a 1/8 inch wall thickness produced a much prettier sound than the same size tubes with the paper thin walls of low cost chimes. BUT, it still took me 5 hours to make it and the sound was not “way better” than the other chimes. So for sound quality reasons I now use 1 inch aluminum tubing with a 1/8 inch wall thickness. The Cascade model still takes me 5 hours to make, is small enough to hang in most locations, and has a pleasing “sustain” (how long the note plays). Sadly I failed on my cost goal, the 5 hours of labor just does not allow for a significantly reduced cost.
